Weekend Reads: Future Trends

August 23, 2013

Some interesting reads for the weekend.

This one will be short. I had some reading to do this week – some backlog stuff with the new stuff that just keeps coming in. there were 3 posts that surfaced as being very interesting. Here they are.

  • Seth Godin on mirrors and cameras – he makes some great points about the possible uptake of video calling in the next generation. If his reasoning is correct, then there's a bright future for WebRTC companies (and video surveillance ones)
  • Thomas Frey talks about physical search engines – another one about future generations and the use of technology. Disconcerting. Interesting. Puts PRISM in a different perspective, and also indicates that the future is inevitable. I suggest reading Ramez Naam's book as well
  • Om Malik on Google's outage – how much power does a single company has over our virtual lives?

Enjoy your weekend! And if you do stumble upon interesting reads, do send them my way.
