Review: WebRTC Integrator’s Guide

If you are about integrating WebRTC to existing infrastructure, then this is the book for you.

I've had a couple of WebRTC book reviews here in the past. Up until now, all of them explained what WebRTC is, and built a use case or a few use cases on top of it.

Frankly, I didn't have high hopes from Altanai's book called WebRTC Integrator's Guide. But then I started reading it and got pleasantly surprised.

While this book definitely isn't for me, I can see a lot of value from it. Especially if you need to connect WebRTC to SIP somehow.

Altanai takes the topic of WebRTC to SIP connectivity and tackles it from every possible angle - showing how to integrate WebRTC with SIP using several different frameworks and platforms. There's native SIP, IMS, RCS - all of the curse words people use for their VoIP networks.

The book is short and to the point, with little fluff around it, which makes it a great reference to pick up and use whenever necessary. From a JS client side perspective, it shows an example of using JsSIP and sipML at the beginning of the book, later on settling on using sipML for the bulk of the samples in the book.
