Fluent CFP – Time to Let WebRTC Spread Wings and Fly

September 6, 2013

Time for WebRTC to get a warm home in web development conferences.

WebRTC is used today mostly to develop video calling services. Some of them are targeted at the existing market before WebRTC while others try to extend it into more areas; but there’s more to WebRTC than just video calling. And it is there where I think the real interesting stuff will happen.

It is also where we as a collective need to be headed – spread the word instead of sitting in our cozy echo chamber.

Fluent 2014

I received the other day an invitation from O’Reilly – a call for proposals for their Fluent Conference. From the website:

Fluent is an annual conference dedicated to showcasing and sharing the latest knowledge about web technology and developing for the Web platform using JavaScript, HTML5, and related technologies. Do you have web development, JavaScript, or HTML5 lessons, expertise, and experiences to share? We encourage you to send us a proposal to speak at Fluent 2014!

Guess what? If you are reading my blog, and interested in WebRTC – and implementing something with it – you should SPEAK at Fluent.

I asked the Fluent conference chairs if they want WebRTC related proposals, and the answer I got was a clear YES. So please – let’s go out and help WebRTC spread its wings and fly – go, place your proposal to speak at Fluent 2014.

You have almost a month to think of a topic and submit your proposal.
