Default listening ports for your protocol are mostly useless. If you want to deploy in production TURN, SIP, MQTT or anything else thing of 443.

Dave decided that WebRTC is a distraction, deeming it dangerous. I think his post is a dangerous distraction, and dismissing WebRTC is bad for your health - and for your business plan.
Google partnering with carriers and the GSMA around RCS won't change its efforts around WebRTC or the bright future ahead of WebRTC. The two aren't competing with each other and serve different purposes inside Google.

Are you thinking of using messaging platforms to connect to with your customers programmatically? Think again - there are risks involved in this adventure - you might find yourself with no access to your customers at some point in the future, so tread carefully.
